Spencer Daniels
Biography: A native of Los Angeles, Spencer Daniels began acting professionally at the age of ten. Spencer has an all-American look, coupled with an intriguing blend of intense maturity. Spencer is presently acting in the stage play WHAT ALL SCHOOL CHILDREN LEARN . This is being presented at The Stella Adler Theatre by the Blank Theatre Company. Spencer has been cast in the lead role of “Atticus Hazelton” in the feature film Au Pair Kansas. Traci Lords will be playing his Mother, “Helen Hazelton.” Au Pair Kansas is slated to film on location in Lindsborg, Kansas beginning December 2008. Spencer finished filming Star Trek XI. Spencer portrayed George Samuel Kirk, Jr.. Star Trek XI chronicles the early days of the USS Enterprise crew members and is directed by JJ Abrams. It is set for release in May 2009. Spencer has two films scheduled for release in 2008. The first The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Spencer shot on location in New Orleans with Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. Spencer portrayed the title character at age twelve, while Pitt plays “Benjamin” as an adult. The film is directed by David Fincher, based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Spencer's second film scheduled for release in 2008 is The Least of These with Isaiah Washington and Robert Loggia. The film is written and directed by Nathan Scoggins. Spencer’s television roles range from comedy to drama. His comedic performances include guest starring as “Jake” in the Emmy award winning The Office. Golden Globe & SAG Award winner Steve Carell said that working with Spencer was “fantastic.” Spencer’s network television debut was on Cold Case in which he played “Jerry Kasher”, a military academy student who was abused. As a result, he carefully plots the murder of his antagonist. The Episode was directed by Academy Award nominated Agnieszka Holland and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Spencer guest stared as “Tommy” on the FX television show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Creator/Writer/Executive Producer/Actor Rob McElhenney said of Spencer, “It's so wonderful to explain to people that not only was he wonderful on screen but he was amazing to work with and just an all around awesome kid. He has a great future in front of him.” Writer/executive producer/actor Charlie Day said of Spencer’s performance, “The first thing people say to me after they watch that episode is, "Where did you find that kid? He is amazing!" Great work Spencer! You are a pro! I hope we get to work together again soon.” Spencer co-starred as young John Lithgow in the NBC series Twenty Good Years. He has also appeared on the drama 10-8 Officer’s On Duty and comedies MAD TV (performing with cast members Aries Spears and Mike McDonald) and The John Henson Project. Spencer played the lead role of “Andrew” in the film Witchwise. Directed by Joe Harris (The Tripper & Darkness Falls), this story is about an angelic yet devious little boy who suspects his aunt to be a witch. Joe Harris said of Spencer, “ … Spencer's enthusiasm, work ethic and obvious skill never let us down … he made Witchwise a much more enjoyable project to be a part of and it was very flattering to see him bring my creation to life.” Film critic Rees Savidis wrote, “... a great performance from young actor Spence Daniels that relied almost entirely on body movement and facial expressions rather than dialog ... Witchwise is a bona fide hit.” Spencer’s other film performances include Food Fight and Billy Conroy Takes a Stand in which he plays “Billy” who saves his mother from an abusive boyfriend. He also played the lead role of “Billy” in the short film Billy’s Dad is a Fudgepacker, co-staring with Robert Gant and Alex Borstein. Billy’s Dad … is a spoof of a circa 1955 educational film depicting the nuclear family and was an official selection at both the 2005 Sundance and Tribeca Film Festivals. Robert Gant said of Spencer, “He has such a great sense of the set, takes direction very well, and has a great aura about him. I know everyone else on the set felt the same way. It was a delight to work with him, and I hope the opportunity comes again some time.” Writer/director Jamie Donahue said, “Spencer is amazing. It's not easy to find an eleven year old that can carry a movie. Especially a comedy. He did, and then some. He brought Billy to life better than I even imagined. I'm definitely going to follow his career. I'm sure that he’s going to do a lot of amazing work.” Spencer has been featured in a number of television commercials and print ads including campaigns for IBM, Farmer’s Insurance, Track Grabbers and The Latter Day Saints. Spencer is a talented musician and athlete. He currently resides in Los Angeles, with his parents and younger brother. Spencer is represented by Debra Manners and the Stone/ Manners Talent Agency and is a member of both SAG and AFTRA.
